Subscribe/Renew Journal
On 9th August, 2008 while we were travelling with Mr. Anjan Guha, Assistant Field Director of Sundarban Tiger Reserve and Mr. Shailendra Singh, Scientific Officer of Madras Crocodile Bank and Indian representative of TSA (Turtle Survival Alliance) from Sajnekhali Wildlife Sanctuary to Sudhanyakhali, three Indo-Pacific Hump-backed Dolphins Sousa chinensis (Osbeck, 1765) were found swimming in Gomor river of Indian Sundarban. We have observed that out of three there were one male swimming alone and one mother with her baby. The species was clearly distinguished by their elongated dorsal fins.
