Different Nutritional Parameters of Polyporus grammocephalus Berk:A New 'Edible Mushroom' from Darjeeling Hills

The science of nutrition is of paramount importance in the present age. Here different nutritional parameters, i.e., protein, carbohydrate, fat, amino acid and crude fiber content of Polyporous grammocephalus Berk, were studied. Results showed that this mushroom has significant amount of carbohydrate, protein, free amino acids and crude fiber where as low in the amount of fat signifies its importance as diet for the sufferers of diabetes, obesity, atherosclerosis, high blood pressure, etc.

Abstract
