To achieve sustainable development of beel fisheries, the role of beel users cannot he overruled. Beel users play very important role for all round development of beek. The beels are in general considered as biologically sensitive habitats of different types of fishes and also provide breeding and nursery grounds for commercially important fishes. The beels vary widely in size and offer tremendous scope for expanding both culture and capture-based fisheries. In Assam there are so many beels but their production potentiality has yet not been exploited properly. Considering the present scenario, the beel users' knowledge and utilization of information resources were studied in the present investigation. The findings of the study revealed that utilization of information sources was significantly and positively correlated with the knowledge levels of beel users for sustainable development of beel fisheries. The study further indicated that knowledge levels of beel users increased with the increase of levels of utilization of information sources in a systematic progression.
