Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs) have been noticed conspicuously in various seas during the last one decade as notorious killer of coastal fisheries, mariculture as also a potential hazard to public health. Algal blooms of some known species of Trichodesmium, Chrysochromulina, Aureococcus, Alexandrium, Gymnodinium and many unknowns besides various exotic animal species invasions in different coastal seas and oceans have exerted tremendous adverse impact on marine-coastal ecosystem. Once witnessed 'Red Tide' restricted to limited seas, has been spreading very fast in the world seas accompanying myriad of different harmful algae.
