In the era between 3500BC- 500AD the women held a good professional status in the society. Over the centuries the nature of woman's work has been undergoing a sea change. Women have not always been in the background doing household work and partially neglected by the society. In that era families were often matriarchal in nature and mother centric which is still prevalent in some of the tribal areas. Women had a strong hold in decision making activities and men consulted and followed their advices.
