Kaikondrahalli Lake, located at Sarjapur Main Road, Bengaluru megacity, is now fenced, restored and rejuvenated into a ‘nature park’ of urban Bengaluru. It spreads over an area of 48 acres with around 2 km stretch encircling the lake perimeters. Presently the lake with its island offers an important habitat for resident and migratory birds of about 70 species. The lake is a glaring example of publicgovernment partnership, glorifying the effort of the Greater Bengaluru Administrative Authority, viz., Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), citizens and green initiatives of this megacity.
