A number of agricultural crops like, rice, chickpea, mustard, etc., have been improvised through transgenic technology. In the present study this technology has been used for development of mustard crop resistant to an aphid pest, Lipaphis erysimi in Madhyamgram Campus of Bose Institute, West Bengal. As preventive measures different bioassays were performed in accordance with the guidelines prescribed by the World Health Organization, endorsing biosafety of the transgenic plants.
