The present work is an attempt to investigate information pertaining to various aspect of hydrobiology of a freshwater reservoir, popularly known as Manjalgaon Dam, located in Beed district of Maharashtra, along with is flora and fauna. A total of 33 species of phytoplankton, 29 species of zooplankton and 17 species of fishes were collected and identified from this reservoir during June 2008 - May 2010. These fishes are : Labeo rohita, Cirrhina mrigala, Catla catla, Cyprinus carpio, Hypophthalamichthys molitrix, Wallago attu, Mystancenbelus armatus, Notopterus chitala, Barbus ticto, Channa striatus, Mystus seenghala, Mystus cavassius, Eutroplus suratensis, Belon concila, Chela sp., Tilapia mosambica, Rohtee alfrediana, Gobius giuris etc. Fishing, fish production, fish marketing and socio-economic condition of the fishermen of this dam are also enlightened in this paper.
