A new genus Haldarella n. gen. is proposed for the new septate gregarines (Protozoa: Apicomplexa: Conoidasida: Eugregarinida) encountered in the mid gut of Aiolopus tamulus Fab., which is an orthopteran insect pest collected from the crop fields of Jangipur in Murshidabad district, West Bengal, India. Haldarella aiolopi n. gen., n. sp. is designated as the type species of the new genus. The entire life cycle and seasonal prevalance of these new gregarines have been observed and communicated in details. The new genus Haldarella n. gen. is included under the Family Monoductidae Ray and Chakravarty, 1933. The affinities with its closely related genus Monoductus have been discussed along with a key to all the genera belonging to the family Monoductidae.

The new genus Haldarella n. gen. is included under the Family Monoductidae Ray and Chakravarty, 1933. The affinities with its closely related genus Monoductus have been discussed along with a key to all the genera belonging to the family Monoductidae.
