In the course of a study of the Maleri formation of the Pranhita-Godavari valley exposed between Maleri and Dharmaram, a number of new fossil localities have been found. The present paper gives a brief description of two distinct faunal associations in the area. Their relationships to the rock types are discussed, and some suggestions are made as to the probable environments represented by the two associations.
