The occurrence of aegirine augite bearing syenite of possible miaskitic character is reported from Kerala. Microcline, perthite, aegirine augite, sphene and melanitic garnet are the chief constituent minerals in the syenite. The Bavali lineament is believed to have provided the conduit for the emplacement of the syenite body.
