Geologically the area around Naswadi comprises Precambrian metamorphics and granite, Bagh Beds and Deccan Traps. The various formations have been dislocated at several places owing to tectonic movements along the Narmada Rift Zone. Most of the fau1ts lie parallel to the main Narmada lineament, e.g., ENE-WSW, and they have been further dislocated by NW-SE fractures.
