A point bar about 1.83 km long on River Tista shows gravel, ranging in size from pebble to boulders shows horizontal bedded structure forming the dominant sediment type. A largely upper flow regime condition is indicated. Comparison of maps prepared at different times indicates the bar to be stable in location but undergoing only changes in shape.
