An attempt has been made to detect the fluoride levels in groundwaters in Davangere district by selecting about 300 bore wells, covering all the six taluks of the district. It is observed that fluoride level ranges from as low as 0.21 ppm in Davangere taluk to as high as 6.98 ppm in Harihar taluk. In this context, a study has been conducted to evaluate the real effect of abnormal content on the human beings of this region by correlating the data obtained from District Health Office (DHO). Further, the geological significance with reference to the fluoride occurrence has also been interpreted.
