In this paper, author discusses the state of sports and athletics in India. He also implores the facilities, incentives, and opportunities both for participants and promotors, be it state or national Olympic associations, businesses that promote them and get enhancements in name and market or societal values. The central theme of the paper is to explore the strategy, policy and facility development that will enhance the performance of the national athletes and sport teams in international sport competitions.  The matter will be considered in light of problem recognition, strategy and policy, human, resource and process management.
