In a paper which appeared a number of years ago [2], dealing with the contrasting properties of arithmetic and asymptotic density for sets of positive integers, I showed that although the latter was not a measure-since the union of two sets with density need not have density-nevertheless one retained certain additivity properties if one worked modulo sets of zero density.

Abstract

In a paper which appeared a number of years ago [2], dealing with the contrasting properties of arithmetic and asymptotic density for sets of positive integers, I showed that although the latter was not a measure-since the union of two sets with density need not have density-nevertheless one retained certain additivity properties if one worked modulo sets of zero density.
