The long looked for Conference of the Indian Mathematical Society took place at the Presidency College Buildings, Madras, on the 27th, 28th and 29th of December 1916. All arrangements for a successful gathering were made by the Local Reception Committee, under the able management of its energetic Secretary Mr. P. V. Seshu Aiyar.
