Determinants and the Roots Op an Equation

Two theorems have been proved which allow the number of distinct ischolar_mains, and of distinct real ischolar_mains, of an equation with real coefficients to be expressed in terms of certain properties of a determinant. The better known of these is Borchardt's result.
