Dr. C. D. Deshmukh (1896-1982):A Gem Among Gentlemen

Dr. Deshmukh belonged to that rare species of men who are blessed with exceptional gifts of the head and the heart which enable-them to shine in whatever department of life, they choose to work. In a sense therefore Dr. Deshmukh brought the Midas touch with him to a variety of jobs entrusted to him during his brilliant and successful public career which spanned over five decades. He stood first class first in all the examinations he took, including the I.C.S. As an administrator and statesman he had but only simple and easy solutions to the most complicated and perplexing of problems.
