Discusses nature of readers' advisory service and its importance. States that the readers' advisory service is now getting momentum. Reasons for the slow response from the library professionals are highlighted. Technological tools competing this human skilled service are listed. Ranganathan's views about reader's advisory service are discussed, particularly his unspelt or indirect support and insistence on readers' advisory service is brought forth. Concludes with forceful rationality for providing readers' advisory service.
