This paper describs the angiospermic flora of the Shankaracharya Hill, covering 204 species of flowering plants belonging to 38 families. Analysis of the species collected shows that the following five families are the richest ones as indicated by the number of species in each family; Gramineae 1451, Compositae (22), Cruciferae (17), Leguminosae (16) and Labiatae (12). These together represent about 56% of the species collected.
