All the drug formulations are meant for prevention of ailments and diseases but few of them are lifesaving and essential and rests are substitutes for each other. When serious problems occur in health care there is always a "knee-jerk" response by many to impose a ban and thus provide an immediate and definitive response to the issue. Every year due to certain reasons the drugs are prohibited for manufacture and sale through gazette notifications under section 26A of drugs&cosmetics act 1940 by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and that trend followed in the present year 2016, also. The Health Ministry banned 344 fixed drug combinations through a gazette notification issued over the weekend.- Big Data Analytics in Pharmaceutical Development

Unlike the fast paced innovations that happen across other industry segments, pharmaceutical industry is slower and reluctant to adopt changes. This is not without reason, being one of the most heavily regulated industry in the world, the pharmaceutical industry is a bit wary of adopting newer changes in its value chain because of the spin offs it creates in the process.- Herbal Medicines- A Revolutionary Change to Equate Tradition to Science

The trend towards the herbal medicines in recent year is well established and widely accepted as safe and effective. Many drugs commonly used today in the developing countries are of herbal origin and many of all the modern prescription drugs contain at least one active ingredient derived from plant material, either obtained from plant extracts or derived from natural plant compounds. Herbal medicines are also known as Botanical medicines or Phytomedicines. They are prepared by using mainly herbs or plants, plant parts and plant products with minimal or no industrial processing or chemical manipulations and are used for medical and therapeutic purposes. Herbal medicines are recognized as "the people's medicines" because of their easy accessibility, safety, and the ease with which they can be prepared. Use of herbal medicines in the treatment of diseases has a long tradition of use outside of conventional medicines. This method is now gradually becoming a more mainstream method of treatment in many countries of the world, because improvements the methods of analysis and quality control of herbs and herbal drugs along with advances in clinical research their efficacy and safety are continuously bringing light the value of herbal medicines in the prevention and treatment of diseases.- Antibiotics Use and Abuse

Antibiotics, also called antibacterials, are a type of antimicrobial drug used in the treatment and prevention of bacterial infections. They may either kill or inhibit the growth of bacteria. Imagine a world without antibiotics: The cut on your finger might lead to serious infection; the simplest operation could be a perilous undertaking; there would be no effective cures for tuberculosis, cholera, strep throat or sexually transmitted disease; and bacterial meningitis in a child would likely be fatal. It may seem hard to believe, but a century ago - before antibiotic drugs became widely available - these risks were very real.- Plagiarism

The term plagiarism originates from the Latin word plagium, meaning kidnapping. In writing world it is the appropriation of one person's language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions and presenting them as their own. Plagiarism dates back to the foundation of science communication as a discipline.

Drug Delivery systems have evolved over a period of time. However the recent breakthroughs in the portable and affordable computing in the past decade has opened a new and exciting frontier in drug delivery leveraging on the capabilities of IT and medical devices industries. The earlier "conventional" models of drug delivery are getting revamped. The conventional novel drug delivery systems based on exipients, solbuliziation or nano-sizing techniques are having limited applications when therapeutic goals and patient compliance are concerned.- Personalized Medicine
