Trypsin (3.4.21.4) was entrapped in reverse micelles of AOT/isooctane. It was observed that the enzyme remains active in reverse micelles. Activity was influencced by various factors like watertsurfactant ratio, pH, surfactant concentration. These parameters were studied in comparison with the conventional aqueous system and the results are reported.
