The Indian society is one where the women are respected. Women are a symbol of tolerance, determination, sincerity, selflessness, satisfaction and sacrifice. There were times that they were not required to support their families financially, and so they were restrained to the household chores. But along with the advent of industrialization, a constant rise in the inflation was observed by the economy. The families which were earlier dwelling as joint ones, due to need of job started separating and settling at places wherever jobs were available. This resulted into a further increase in financial needs of individual families and women started working to support their families. As the need arose many females took up teaching as a profession. Many believe that teaching is a job with the least efforts and so is safe, fit and feasible for females. The study tries to bring out the problems faced by female teachers, teaching at primary level and the work related stress faced by them.
