Green Marketing:A Comparative Study for the Development of Green Carsin India and Europe

The successful launch of 'TATA NANO' has revolutionised the automobile industry globally. This has proved that quality at affordable cost is still the key for sustainability. The recent economic slowdown all over the world has forced business entities to look towards terminologies such as Green marketing, which indeed talks about cost cutting with the help of the latest available technology. The role of Government policies plays a vital role in guiding corporate ethics for the development of businesses. With the help of this paper, the researcher is making an attempt to study and compare the impact of Govt Policies in developing Green Cars. A pilot survey by the researcher has revealed that there is willingness in the corporate as well as among customers to contribute to the betterment of the environment. Hence, an effort is being made through this paper to study, compare and highlight the importance of Government initiatives in India and the European Union. The author hopes that the study will benefit the masses at large to understand the existing gap between corporate ethics and the Role of Government, which if integrated well, can prove to be vital to have eco-friendly products at affordable prices.
