In the era of Accuracy and Precision, Cylindrical grinding plays an important role and in order to achieve it surface roughness is an essential parameter. The current case study is carried out in multinational company manufacturing bearings. Surface roughness being an important process parameter, a study was conducted to find the parameters which affect surface roughness. The relationship between various parameters will help in identifying the values of these parameters. The paper aims at deriving empirical relationship between Dressing In-feed speed (Vi), Dress speed diamond roller (Vd), Grinding wheel speed (Vs), Dressing depth (a), Work head spindle speed (Vw). The resulting work piece surface roughness model is then experimentally validated for different depth of cut, work piece speed, spindle speed, dressing In-feed speed, and dress speed diamond roller.

The current case study is carried out in multinational company manufacturing bearings. Surface roughness being an important process parameter, a study was conducted to find the parameters which affect surface roughness. The resulting work piece surface roughness model is then experimentally validated for different depth of cut, work piece speed, spindle speed, dressing In-feed speed, and dress speed diamond roller.
