Researchers must be aware of IPR Laws

Visakhapatnam: Those involved in research projects must seriously study the intricacies of intellectual property rights (IPR) laws to ensure that challenging claims are not made, said Dr. Avinash Kumar, additional director (IPR), DRDO.

Speaking at a seminar jointly organised by Gitam University and the National Research Development Corporation at the Gitam campus here on Tuesday, Dr. Avinash Kumar said that people involved in research programmes, especially joint ventures, must thoroughly understand the laws concerning technology transfers, ownership of technology, licensing laws, and laws concerning commercial usage of technology.
