Mechanical Characterization of Unidirectional Glass Fiber-Alumina Filler Reinforced Epoxy Composites

Polymer matrix composites are emerging as promising materials in many structural applications. In the present study, Mechanical behavior of Unidirectional glass Fiber Reinforced Epoxy composite Filled Alumina Filler Materials with varied weight percentage of Alumina filler has been investigated. The Mechanical properties like Tensile strength, Flexural strength, Impact strengths and ILSS were investigated in accordance with ASTM standards. The objective was to investigate the influence of Alumina filler on Mechanical Characteristics of Unidirectional Glass Fiber/Epoxy Composites. The obtained results revealed that Impact strength and Tensile strength is decreases while filler percentage is increased. The flexural and the Interlaminar shear strength are increases in the filler added specimen.
