Reduction in Cycle Time of an Assembly Line Using Kilbridge and Westers Method

Planning and balancing of assembly lines is a complex problem which is often very hard to solve with classical scheduling approaches. This paper demonstrates the concept of line balancing by using the Kilbridge and Westers method to balance the line and then evaluate the thus obtained solution using simulation techniques, before it is actually implemented on the line.
