Continuous Improvement:Kaizens for Waste Minimization

Continuous Improvement (CI) has been incrementally induced in a corporate thinking; however, practical implementation o f Cl In the manufacturing process has progressed at a slower space. This research attempted to implement Cl in the foundry by using the concept of kaizen. The purpose o f this research is to expound waste minimization in a foundry and to reveal their positive influences on continuous improvement environment. A sand casting case is presented to validate and demonstrate the dynamics of Cl implementation process in the foundry and practical approaches adopted during implementation are also discussed. This case study shows that Cl process is a specific tailor made process for a selected organization and Cl is a cyclic nature of never ending gradual improvement process.
