Development of Templates for Precision Production Form Grinding

Cam type grinding wheel dressing attachments, in which the X and Y motions of the dressing diamond are controlled independently by templates, facilitates fast, accurate and automatic contour dressing, the design of the templates could be done in such a way that the peripheral speed of the diamond could be kept constant and also to cover wide range of grinding wheel profiles. This paper describes the development of templates for grinding splines and gears using cam type wheel dressing attachment.
