The article talks about the growing inequality in India in the context of the growing neo liberalism strategies being adopted. Earlier studies using data from various NSS estimates suggest that inequality has indeed widened, post reforms. The refutation of Kuznet's hypothesis is discussed. We move on to explore the various factors in the Indian context, which are increasing this divide, emphasizing on the period when the country ushered in the era of economic reforms.
