Experimental Analysis of Electrical Resistivity of Lubricant for Online Condition Monitoring of Rolling Bearing Using Design of Experiment
Subscribe/Renew Journal
Rolling element bearing is one of the most essential component of the machinery and automobile. Proper lubrication of the bearing enhances its life. Out of various monitoring methods, online condition monitoring of Rolling Bearing yields useful results. A setup for this purpose has been earlier developed by researchers. The method uses electrical resistance between the races of bearing for evaluation of analytically formulated representative lubricant film thickness (RLFT). The formula developed has one parameter Electrical Resistivity of the lubricant. Present work incorporates planning of experiment by General full factorial design for determination of resistivity of lubricant SAE 40. Analysis has been done by Graphical Representation and 2- level factorial design of Design of Experiment (DOE). The 2-level factorial design is performed on statistical software Minitab 16 for the proper value of the Resistivity of the Lubricant.
