A Simulation Study on Supplier or Partner Selection for Indian Telecom Service Provider Companies:A SCM Perspective

An enterprise to operate in an effective manner it has to synchronise all the activites in a logical manner to achieve the end result. In today's fast changing and dynamic business scenario it is more important to keep one's preparedness for easy adaptability in changing market demand. Vendor or partner selection is a vital decision to survive and grow in present day business environment. The aspect of vendor selection becomes far more important in a infrastructure service sector like telecom. The present study tries to find the criteria of vendor selection for telecom companies with the perception that the telecom service is a supply chain activity where the flow of information and flow of hardware are to be synchronized. The approach is dealing with selecting a proper vendor or service provider based on their delivering capability (with cost and quality being constant) to augment the supply chain. The study tries to find out the criteria of selecting a partner and to understand how a supplier is positioned either as a stockpiled entity or as an outsourcing agency through a simulation study.
