As worldwide demand for energy surges at an ever-increasing rate, there is a new urgency to improve the efficiency and sustainability of power generation technologies. One of the keys to addressing this challenge is reducing the Capital investing for the generation.

Here we are going to deals with a new cost effective control strategy of an offshore wind farm interconnected to an onshore wind farm using HVDC system. Here DC obtained from the offshore wind farm after synchronization is stepped up using a chopper instead of using an inverter, transformer and a rectifier which make the system to be cost effective. And the controller is placed at the chopper on offshore side as well as to the inverter on onshore side.
