In this paper, the Homotopy Perturbation Method is used to study the effect of nonlinearity, under same initial conditions for first and second order partial differential equations. Numerical treatment and graphical presentation of displacement versus distance for different times for both linear and nonlinear equation is also done to discuss the nonlinearity effects.
