Anthelmintic Activity of Latex of Carica papaya

The present study report the anthelmintic activity of the latex of Carica papaya against an adult Indian earthworms Pheretima posthuma. The activities are comparable with the standard reference allopathic and ayurvedic drugs Albendazole and Kurmivicar Kadha respectively. Overall results of this study suggest that the latex possesses significant anthelmintic activity.
