Reflection and Transmission Coefficients at the Boundary Surface of Micropolar Viscothermoelastic Solids With Two Temperatures
Subscribe/Renew Journal
The present investigation is concerned with effects of distinct conductive and thermodynamic temperatures on reflection and transmission cofficients at an interface of two different micropolar viscothermoelastic solid half spaces. Reflection and transmission phenomenon of plane waves impinging obliquely at a plane interface between two different micropolar viscothermoelastic solid half spaces with two temperatures are investigated in the context of Green-Lindsay (G-L) theory (1972). The incident wave is assumed to be striking at the plane interface after propagating through one of the micropolar viscothermoelastic solid with two temperatures. Amplitude ratios of the various reflected and transmitted waves are obtained in closed form and it is found that these are function of angle of incidence, frequency and are affected by the micropolar, viscoelastic properties of the media. Viscosity effects are shown on these amplitude ratios for a specific model. Results of some earlier workers have also been deduced from the present investigation.
