Reflections of Indian Judiciary on Employers Responsibility for Combating Sexual Harassment at Work Place

The Constitution of India has taken a long leap in the direction of eradicating the lingering effects of such adverse forces. It recognizes women as a class by itself and permits enactment of laws and reservations favoring them. On the other hand Landmark decisions delivered by the Indian judiciary, in particular during the last two decades, bear testimony to the fact that judges cannot be accused of gender injustice. They have shown the requisite sensitivity expected of them.
Sustainable business, is an enterprise that has minimal negative impact on the global or local environment, community, society, or economy. Sustainable businesses have progressive environmental and human rights. For sustainability of any business human resources and human rights are to be protected. J.S. Verma, CJ in Vishaka V. State of Rajasthan had mentioned that "It shall be the duty of the employer or other responsible persons in work places or other institutions to prevent or deter the commission of acts of sexual harassment and to provide the procedures for the resolution, settlement or prosecution of acts of sexual harassment by taking all steps required"
