The aim was to study the effects of rivastigmine and metrifonate on the exploratory activity of rats with scopolamine model of cognitive dysfunction in "Activity cage" apparatus with photosensors (Ugo Basile, Italy). The scopolamine group with cognitive dysfunction decreased horizontal and vertical locomotor activity. Rivastigmine in a small dose can improve only the horizontal activity. Metrifonate, irrespective of the dose applied, improves the horizontal and vertical exploratory activity in rats in a significantly higher degree.
