Determination of ultrasonic velocity in liquids, liquid mixtures and gases is highly useful in predicting several physical and chemical properties of them. In spite of the wide distinction between the properties of solid, liquid and gases, there are certain basic similar characteristics between them. In this paper the authors have attempted to bring out such common characteristics applying kinetic theory of liquids and gases to ten liquefied gases and the results are briefly analyzed.

Abstract

Determination of ultrasonic velocity in liquids, liquid mixtures and gases is highly useful in predicting several physical and chemical properties of them. In spite of the wide distinction between the properties of solid, liquid and gases, there are certain basic similar characteristics between them. In this paper the authors have attempted to bring out such common characteristics applying kinetic theory of liquids and gases to ten liquefied gases and the results are briefly analyzed.
