Food Security in India: An Overview

In this article, we analyzed the problem of food security in India and also explored the strategies of govemment of India [GOI] in fighting the problem. It is clear from foregoing analysis that the govemment of India has taken several steps to curb the problem, which has already reached at an alarming stage, in the form of PDS, MDMS, MNREGA, SJSV, SGSY, FSB, etc. Yet, the problem of hunger has not been eradicated from the country due to several reasons such as-corruption, mismanagement, inflation, natural hazards.
