In today's business world environmental issues play an imperative role in marketing. Almost all the governments around the world are concerned about green marketing activities that they have attempted to regulate. If you are already competitive in terms of price, quality and performance, adding "green" claims and ecolabels to your marketing strategy may enhance your brand image and secure your market share among the growing number of environmentally concerned consumers.

This paper introduces the terms and concepts of green marketing, briefly discusses why "going green" is important and also examines some reasons why organizations are adopting a green marketing philosophy. This paper also discusses how businesses have increased their rate of targeting green consumers, those who are concerned about the environment and allow it to affect their purchasing decisions.
