This study aims to determine the appropriate parameter levels during cutting process of CPOH steel by using Cut 300, a new wire erosion machine, in a company operating in defense and aviation sector. In the study, CCD (central composite design) which is the frequently used type of RSM (response surface methodology) has been used for the optimization of SR (surface roughness) and CT (cutting time). According to the literature, it has been seen that the process parameters that may be effective in optimization are current, Ton, Toff and WFR (wire feed rate). Parameters having significant effect for response variables has been determined by ANOVA. Prediction models has been built by regression analysis and desirability function was used for simultaneous optimization of all responses. Optimized parameter levels has been determined as current 22.69 (Amp), Ton 0.8 (µs), Toff 8.01 (µs) and 22.60 (mm /min) WFR. After conducting confirmation tests the responses Ra, Rz and CT has been obtained 0.38 (µ), 2.23 (µ) and 10.84 (min), respectively. The results fall into the prediction interval ensure the model validation.
