Exploring the Factors Affecting Entrepreneurship in Tourism Sector

Entrepreneurship plays a very important role in earlier stages of tourism development which makes many governments around the world believe that entrepreneurship is the key to economic development. This study investigates the opportunities, challenges and education system’s role to developing entrepreneurship in the tourism industry in Egypt as a developing country. The research is based upon a questionnaire survey distributed to relevant employees in public government authorities’ related to entrepreneurship. Structural equation modeling is used to examine the relationships between opportunities, challenges, tourism entrepreneurship education, and entrepreneurship development of tourism sector. The results indicate entrepreneurship activation in tourism industry is significantly contributing to tourism sector development. This study is useful for policymakers who wish to do their best to improve tourism entrepreneurship in developing countries

Abstract
