Relationship Between Prosocial Behaviour and Values Among Adolescents

The present study was an attempt to investigate the relationship and significance of mean difference between prosocial behaviour and values among adolescents. The sample of 200 adolescents of IX and X classes with age range between 14 to 16 years who were administered psychological tests i.e. Prosocial Tendencies Measure (PTM), Carlo and Randall, 2002 and Value Test, Ojha (1992). Product moment method was used to see the relationships between prosocial behaviour and values. Results reveal that prosocial behaviour is significantly positive correlated with social and religious values and significantly negative correlated with theoretical, economical, aesthetic and political Values. To see the significant mean difference, t- test was used. Results show that boys are high on public prosocial behaviour and theoretical and economical values where as girls are high on altruism, complaint and emotional the measures of prosocial behavoiur and aesthetic and religious values as compared to their counterparts.
