Academic Competence of Children with and without Learning Disabilities

The article provides the research conducted on the school children with and without learning disability. The aim of the research is to assess the academic competence of normal children and children with learning disability. A sample of 50 students were selected for the study. (25 were normal children and 25 were children with learning disability). They were admmistered the academic competence evaluation scale (Di perna & Elliot 1999). Mean, SD and t value was calculated for the data. The results show that there is significant difference between normal and children with learning disability on academic skills and also on the academic enablers.
