Employee Burnout:Role of Emotional Intelligence

Burn out can have a significant effect on an employees of an industries' & long term physical and mental well being. An understanding of the role of emotional inteliigence during work place is critical for the prevention of chrome burn out. The purpose of the study was to explore level of burn out and its relationship with emotional intelligence. The sample for the present study consists of 200 employees drawn from various industries from Sitapura industrial area Jaipur. Scales used were Bhattachaiya instrument of emotional intelligence (Bhattacharya, 2003) and Maslach Burnout inventory (1986).
