Comparative Study of Socio-Personal Variables and Adjustment of High School Going Students of Rajkot and Porbandar City

The present study aimed to find out mean difference between the high school going students socio-personal variables and their adjustments. The total sample consisted of 120 girls in the age range of 14 to 18 years from different parts of Rajkot and Porbandar city. The research tool used to elicit information was Pramodkumar's (1967); Revised Adjustment Inventory was 0.87 and 0.86 and the split half reliability of the inventory applying Spearman Brown formula was 0.94 (N=100).The 't' test was used to analyze the data. The interpretation of the results indicated that there was no significant mean difference between the students' socio-personal variable namely Age, Type of family, size of family and monthly income and their adjustment. There existed significant mean difference between the students' variables such as area (Hostel & city background). Mental Tension (Low and high group students) and anxiety (low and high group student) and their adjustment.
