A Comparative Study of Aggression of Secondary and Higher Secondary Students in Urban and Rural Area

Generally aggressive behavior is not considered to be valid, still some situations the aggressive behavior is necessary. Operations done by military officers or commando to sight with terrorists is appreciated. Thus, any behavior has to be considered according to social norms which are accepted by the society. In this way the behavior which is intended to hurt others can be considered aggression. The aim of study is to find out the level of aggression between urban and rural, secondary and higher secondary, boys and girls children. A total of 80 students (40 from urban school and 40 from rural school, 20 boys and 20 girls from each group) were randomly selected for the study. The smith MacMiller (Buss & Perry -1992) Inventory as used to assess the level of aggression in these children. 'T' test was used to gain the purpose of research by statistical analysis. There was a significant difference at 0.05 level between rural and urban area, secondary & higher secondary student & girls and boys. People who are living in urban area have more aggression than rural area. Higher secondary's students has more aggression than secondary student. Boys are more aggressive than girls.
